For renters
Is Nawa Niwas really free for renters?+
Yes. Searching, filtering, saving properties, and contacting a landlord are all free — there is no commission or finder’s fee, ever.
How do I contact a landlord?+
Open a listing and use Show phone number or WhatsApp. You’ll need to be logged in first — this keeps contact reveals attributable and out of reach of scrapers.
Why do I need to log in just to see a phone number?+
It’s the one thing we ask in exchange for showing a real, direct number — no broker relay, no masked calls. It also lets us rate-limit abuse instead of leaving the page open to anyone scraping every listing’s number.
What does the verification badge on a listing mean?+
It reflects the lister's trust tier, not a guarantee about the property itself: Phone Verified means they confirmed their phone number, Identity Verified means an admin reviewed an identity submission, and Listing Verified is the highest tier. See Trust & safety below.
For landlords
How much does it cost to list a property?+
Nothing. Publishing a listing, uploading photos, and receiving enquiries are all free.
How long does it take to publish a listing?+
A few minutes. The listing wizard walks you through property type, basic info, pricing, location, amenities, availability, and photos, then shows you a preview before you publish — nothing goes live without you seeing it first.
How many photos can I upload?+
Up to five per listing. You can reorder them and pick a cover photo — the first photo is what shows on search cards.
Can I edit or pause a listing after publishing?+
Yes, from My listings in your account. Pausing hides a listing from search without deleting it — useful once a property is rented, if you want to bring it back later. Deleting is permanent.
How do renters reach me?+
They see your phone number (or WhatsApp) directly once they choose to reveal it on your listing — we don’t relay messages or take a cut. Your dashboard shows enquiry counts per listing so you know when interest picks up.
Trust & safety
What should I do if a listing looks like a scam?+
Use Report this listing on the property page and pick the reason that fits — scam, duplicate, incorrect information, and a few others. Our moderation team reviews every report.
What happens to a reported listing?+
An admin reviews it and can remove it or take action against the account behind it. We don’t auto-remove on a single report — that would make the report button itself a tool for abuse — but repeated or clear-cut reports are prioritized.
Does Nawa Niwas verify every listing before it goes live?+
No — listings publish immediately so landlords aren’t stuck waiting, and moderation works after the fact through reports and account verification rather than a pre-publish review queue. This is a deliberate MVP trade-off we’ll revisit as the platform grows.
